We can all benefit from budgeting apps that we can customize to our own family budget needs and goals. An internet search shows millions of results! So at least you know you are not alone in your journey to find ways to track spending and get out of debt.
We have done a little poking around on the internet, and even spent some time in the iPhone app store looking for budgeting programs that can meet our test for "easy". (I am all about the easy stuff). Again, there's thousands of programs to choose from. Some are free, some are not....and some are crazy expensive. Make sure that you are comfortable with your choice.
Sometimes it is possible to get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information on the internet. You probably were frustrated with your finances when you started this journey. Set that aside for awhile.
...if you know what you are hoping to achieve. Obviously you are trying to save money. But what else? What type of financial goals are you trying to achieve? Are they short term and you want to see results quick? (Like yesterday) Or are they long term? Are you trying to increase your credit score?
Saving money to buy a new home, or do you just need to get cash together for a new car?
Better yet, are you saving towards your baby's college fund or planning for retirement? A family financial plan can change your whole world if you focus on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Know what your focus is as you narrow down your choices...some programs are better than others at different tasks.
As you venture out on to the Internet, keep your personal and money goals in mind. I guarantee you that someone has written an app that will be "just the right thing."
