Save Money By Saving Electricity

I started doing this years ago and some of you probably already know about it.

Flip the switch in your electric box off! (The "breaker box" is usually pretty easy to reach)

My hot water heater will hold hot water for 2 days. I flip the switch on every 2 days for about 4 hours and then flip it back off. I told a friend about this just last month and she was shocked at her power bill! It went down $66.00 from the price of her last months electric bill.
It will become a habit.... and it will save you lots of money in a years time!

That is a really great idea...I heard that years ago, but totally forgot it! Wow! Those are big savings in today's economy! Thanks!

Just remember to turn it back on! I hate cold baths!

Water heater breaker

I think they mean to turn off the breaker to your hot water heater and not the main breaker to your house

Lights? A-C/Heat?
by: Anonymous

Turning off the box means NO electricity to me, so how do you manage without lighting, or heat/a-c? I must be missing something here, do you mean to turn off the box only at night?
